cavillaca:

Good news!! This month’s IKKI magazine is announcing a new magazine for next year.

The last issue for IKKI will be the November issue which will be released on September 25. So that means at least two more chapters of Dorohedoro before IKKI disappears.

The new magazine will feature works by…

That’s good news! I thought the upcomming issue that releases this friday would be the last. Wouldn’t we have to do without Doro for a few months anyway even if Q gets to a different magazine? I’m not sure how fast serializing goes.

I knew as soon as those magazine publication numbers came out that IKKI’s days were numbered. And yet the news still really hit me hard.
I’m sad to see it go. It published a lot of my favorite series over the years.
(I wonder which magazine dorohedoro will end up in.)

*PANICS* I wonder what this means for Dorohedoro. I realize it’ll most likely get picked up by another magazine, but when? And how will that affect the size and quality of Dorohedoro’s publication? Ikki’s Dorohedoro volume releases were so high quality, and larger than the standard manga format. Will the formatting change for Dorohedoro’s final volume? That would be really unfortunate and awkward. Most importantly, will the new publishers be as cooperative with Q’s creative license for her own series?

I’m shocked, this news is pretty sudden, at least to me. They just released volume 19 and announced an art book and now the magazine stops, what? Sounds like they’re going separate ways, though. But just one more chapter of Doro and then it’s wait and see? I’m pretty worried actually.

Did anyone see this picture at the end of Dorohedoro volume 19? I got it from this post and my awesome friend chryselis translated it for me.I says that they’re planning a Dorohedoro artbook and that further information will follow, or something alike. That’s 10+ years of Q’s work collected in one book, I know I’m excited.

Yep, that’s the promo from Volume 19. ^_^ I hear that this artbook is supposed to be included with (the special edition of?) Volume 20, like El Cuento Corto Del Diablo was included with the special edition of Volume 16. The Volume 16 artbook was pretty tiny, though. I don’t know what size the artbook which may come with Volume 20 will be, but I’m really hoping Q will release a large, thick, color artbook at some point.
The pictures in the Volume 19 promo of the upcoming artbook look a lot like the sketchbook Q released a long time ago. Maybe a few pages of that sketchbook were used as placeholders for the advertisement while Q works on the actual artbook - kinda how the early promo pages of the All-Star Directory were very different from what the published book ended up looking like. I can’t wait to see what the finished product will be!!

Releasing it with volume 20 is great, it will be pretty easy to get even for us as we can buy the manga online, unlike the guidebook. Sad thing is, it probably won’t be that big, but it will be of quality! knowing Q and IKKI.It gets me very excited as Q has become one of my favorite artists and biggest inspiration for work, and I’m a huge sucker for concept art. I’m sure we’ll get to see lots new and interesting work even if it’s a small book, they always deliver. Still I do agree on that big stand-alone artbook. But the guidebook got bigger due to the populairity so who knows! They’re pretty early to announce this art book. We still have atleast a year till it gets released.

Fooooo待ちに待ったドロヘドロ19巻!
18巻でこの巻は最終巻になるって書いてあったけどまだまだ続きますヤッタネ☆
そして、ドロヘドロ画集化計画が始動!!!YES THANKs!

I’m extremly taken by that last picture. If I could ever get my hands on Q’s concept art it would be the best piece of my collection.
